Another Plesiosaur Comparison by Scott Mardis

Scott Mardis also put together this comparison: he asked me to redraw the sketches by the witness A.H. Palmer from Rupert T. Gould's book on the Loch Ness Monster. The "Ears" are commonly interpreted as erectile nostrils but they could be some other form of fleshy or spiny processes of the head. It is an interesting feature that the inside of the mouth is bright red: that is also reported in the case of the Soay beast and it might function as a visual signal recognised by the creatures themselves, possibly an open mouth functions as a warning or threat.
