  2. You may very well be right. I can't say for certain visually, but there are one or two things about the creature as shown which do suggest a porcupine to me.

  3. This was debunked two years ago. It is indeed a porcupine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMayRG273xY&feature=related

  4. I think we were independantly reaching a consensus about that since it was posted here. it is hard to tell at first, but eventually the head end of it looked like a porcupine to me, too.

  7. Robert Kline (arkline) has posted the following opinion on the Global Warming and Terraforming Terra Blog:

What is unusual here is that the witnesses were able to rule out a bear. Otherwise we would all have reasonably assumed a young bear running for cover. They do this. It is also way too large for either a porcupine or a raccoon unless we happen to be looking at a giant version which is possible but quite unlikely as neither giant species appears to otherwise have made it out of the Pleistocene. Beside, these are not so clever that human encounters could have been avoided.

I do have an alternative and that is a young giant sloth. Again the creature has gone to the trees upon been disturbed but has no good apparent escape route here.

I do not know what more by the witnesses was done and this is all we have, unfortunately.

It certainly is not a Sasquatch and it is noteworthy that the Sasquatch does not use trees.
